Quick Check Guide for Buyers
1. Delivery access
Check the width of doorways, passages and gates to make sure the spa can pass. Gates, fences and doors may need to be removed. Make sure there is nothing protruding, e.g., drainage pipes or sills. Also, check that there are no low branches or low roofing. This may hinder vertical clearance.
If there are any corners to your path, please check to see that the spa will pass.
Steep slopes, retaining walls or large amount of stairs could cause problems.
Under special circumstances, where there is no clear and easy route, a crane can be used to deliver your spa, at an extra cost to you.
2. Position of Spa
It is recommended that the position of your spa allows for easy access to the equipment inside your spa by the service engineers (24 inches or 60 cm).
A solid foundation is essential for your spa. It is your responsibility to provide such a foundation. If you are having your spa outdoors then a concrete base with a minimum thickness of 10 cm is advised. If you are having your spa indoors then you have to ensure that the flooring will not be damaged or spoiled by water. In either situation, you must ensure that the structure can withstand the weight of your spa with water and people.
3. Electrical Requirements
It is recommended that your spa be permanently connected (hard wire) to the power supply using:
A single-phase 240-volt power supply with a 30ma R.C.D (E.L.C.B) fitted at the fuse board. You will need to have an Isolator – minimum of 2 metres from the water, and a cable run to the back of the spa with a 4-metre tail.
We insist that a qualified electrician in accordance with IEE regulations carry out all work.
